  My husband and I have been seeing Dr Shields for over 4 years now and we love going to the dentist - as much as one could love a visit to the dentist, I suppose. I had some negative experiences with other dentists in Ithaca, and was so glad to find Dr Shield's office. His staff are extremely friendly and the hygienists are great. We highly recommend them!

  I was very disappointed with my interactions with this office. I have an insurance based out of a different state and all I needed was a list of prices for a new patient visit faxed to my insurance for pre-authorization, but the secretary refused. I was excited to come here as I had heard good things, but I tried to reason with her asking if there was any way she could help--even saying she could just write the prices down on a word document to fax. But she said that she could do nothing. I am just confused why she couldn't help. I really need to see a dentist for my yearly check up.

  Dr. Shields is an excellent dentist. I have been going to his office for more than 20 years and have only had good experiences. He and his staff are friendly and professional. Dr. Shields does a great job of explaining treatments to his patients and helping them to be as comfortable as possible. He stays up-to-date on technology, tools, and procedures. The office also runs on time and I have never waited long before being taken back for my appointment, which is a huge plus.
